Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP): families in need utilize an Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card that can be used like a debit card, to by groceries at specified stores that accept EBT.

Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC): provides services to pregnant women, new mothers, infants, and children up to the age of 5 in nutrition counseling, breastfeed resources, and nutrient rich foods.

Temporary Cash Assistance for Needy Families (TANF): provides cash assistance to needy families with dependent children when available resources do not fully address the family’s needs and while preparing program participants for independence through work. Adults with dependent children receiving TANF must meet financial and technical eligibility requirements.

Home Energy Assistance Program: assists eligible low-income District households with energy costs associated with heating and cooling.

Weatherization Assistance Program: provides technical and financial assistance to help residents reduce their energy bills by making homes more energy efficient.

Child Care Subsidy Program: helps eligible families pay for child care services. Families are required to cost-share on a sliding scale based on family size, income and number of children in care.
